says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: Alright. I will give you the option of three or four rounds and whether or not you wish the standard time limit, which I believe is 13 minutes, or not. I would ask for the first post but if you would like it that is fine.

says to . Administrator of Minus: "I would actually prefer to have you take the first post, time limits are not really an issue for me (fast typer) so whatever you would like works, and four rounds if you are comfortable with that, it will give me more of an opportunity to practice. Please allow me to get into position and then we can begin."

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: Footfalls would carry me towards the sands of the stadium where I would take a stance approximately fifteen feet from Exavier and turn to square myself with him across the distance that was set. On my head I wore a Y Slot Helm that was craft of iron to be durable but had also been lined with fur so that it remained comfortable to wear; raising it in both hands I would have set it down over me head before entering the sands. There was a Common Round Shield of Gor worn over my left arm; the Shield is three feet in total diameter and covers me from the shoulder to over the knee after I lower the center of balance I maintain, I'm still able to see over its highest rim easily and continue to regard Exavier. In my right hand I hold a Spear of Gor which is seven feet in total length with a fifteen inch, bronze, leaf shaped head; I hold the spear around center shaft over my right shoulder so that the head and three feet of shaft extend ahead of me aimed towards Exaviers torso and the remainder extend behind me. On my right hip is also a Scimitar of the Tahari, thirty-six inches in length with the uncommon feature of an eight inch false edge on its backside, that remains sheathed; its hilt is wrapped in leather to offer a sturdier hold. Nodding now that I had readied I would wait for Exavier to do likewise before we began.

says to . Administrator of Minus: I reach into a loop on my belt and remove a helm, it has the normal Y slot front and instead of a normal crest, the crest is made of kurii fur. I push the helmet onto my head and then reach down to my left side and pick up the standard 36" Gorean shield with two loops on the back and considered that if my petition was accepted I would have to get one with the symbol for Minus on it. I was sure to select one that would fit tightly to my arm, which would preclude it from being dropped in most cases. I push my right arm through the straps in the shield, I then reach my left hand back behind my left shoulder and grip the pommel of the 36" standard sword that I'd forged the other day, it was plain and unornamented but was suited for battle, drawing the blade with a hiss of steel against leather. I pull the shield in relatively close to my body, so that it covers my six foot four inch 250lb form from my just above my right shoulder to just above my right knee. Turning my body so that my right side is facing you, leading with my right leg. I hold the sword so that the pommel is near my left hip, the tip is held just a bit low and to my left, so that the point ends up level with my left knee. In addition to the sword and shield, I also wear a smithing hammer with a 30" handle and a ten pound head the grip wrapped in marsh shark skin on my left hip,

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: Eyes continued to regard Exavier from across the distance and I momentarily considered the course of action that I would choose as my grip tightened around the wooden shaft of the spear. Marching towards the man with short but constant steps I would ensure that I closed the distance swiftly from fifteen feet down to a total of four feet. Once I was within distance...
...my Spear jabbed ahead with the quick extension of my right arm which would allow the natural recoil of the movement to draw the arm backwards once it had completed the motion. The Spear jabbed out, and slightly across to my left, towards the helmed head of Exavier hoping to pass over the highest rim of his shield and strike him before jerking back with the motion swiftly.

says to . Administrator of Minus: I watch you come across the sands of the pit towards me, already considering how you were going to have a serious advantage in terms of reach. Your shoulder flexes as you drive your spear towards me and I take a sliding step into the blow with my right leg trying to close the distance between us as much as I can. As I step forward I drive the shield strapped to my right arm up, and just a bit further away from my body. This catches the head of your spear before it can reach my face and deflects it.
I then step forward with my left foot trying to close the distance between to approximately two feet while I at the same time bring the sword tip from where it is low and to my left and snap it under the level of my shield in a horizontal motion hoping to slash your right leg just above the knee but not overextending myself in case the blow misses.

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: When Exavier begins to step forward with his left foot, which should have the added effect of beginning to square his body, I would note the shift in his stance and planting my own left foot I would have slid my right leg backwards so that I could angle my body at roughly forty-five degrees. As I did this my Shield, worn on the left arm and covering my shoulder to knee, would have been drawn further to my right and angled into it likewise to cover my side block the uppwards swing with its lower rim or face.
Once this was done I would shift my weight back onto my right foot so that I could draw my left side back to square myself once again. Hopefully the motions reset our distance to at least three feet. With my right hand still curled tightly around the shaft of the spear I let it dip down then before jabbing across from my right to left once again aiming to have it pass between Exaviers legs and skewer the inside of his right calf before the recoil once again drew it backwards.

says to . Administrator of Minus: My sword ends up against your shield, at about the mid point of my body from the failed swing towards your thigh, but I'd not put a ton of force behind the blow so when I see you bring your seven foot long spear into position to attempt to drive the tip into my right calf I merely need to reverse the motion of the blade, sweeping it down and to my left, catching your spear on the wooden shaft and parrying its tip wide and to my left, keeping the shaft and spear tip from between my legs. While I do this I also drop my shield just a bit to reset its positon to where it covers from my right shoulder to right knee.
I was square with you now, not leading with either foot and our distance was the stated approximately three feet. I make a large step forward with my right foot, trying to close the distance with you to approximately one foot while at the same time driving the shield on my right arm out and away from my body, attempting to smash my shield into yours and knock you off balance while at the same time screaming the rallying cry of the Torvaldslands, "BAZINGA".

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: Watching as Exavier moved to close the distance towards me I would have actually begun to shuffle backwards so that when he shield extended outwards to bash into mine it was relatively easy to disengage and continue backwards with the momentum with no ill effects. As I went backwards I would open the distance to a large ten feet while tossing my spear aside and laying my right hand over the hilt of my scimitar...
...as I came to a halt with my right hand closing around the hilt of the Scimitar I would then draw it cleanly from the sheath and hold it at hip height with the blade extending ahead beneath the bottom, right most, rim of my shield.

says to . Administrator of Minus: I watch you shuffle back, and note the distance of approximately ten feet between us, seeing the flash of the scimitar as you draw it from its sheath on your right hip. I close the distance between us as quickly as I can without unbalancing myself, keeping my sword low and to my left where it was after the parry of your spear and pulling my shield back against my body. I slide to a stop at a distance of approximately two feet from you, leading with my right side now, shield covering from my right shoulder to just above my right knee.
When I get into position approximately two feet from you I swing the sword from where it is low and to my left and then stab it straight out towards you, hoping to use the slight advantage in manouverability with the lighter blade to catch you in the front of your right leg just below your knee with the point of the blade before you can get your scimitar or shield in the way to block the blow.

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: As Exavier came towards me I would note how his sword still ingered low and left and so as his attack came low I would simultaineously slide my right leg backwards to both create distance and allow me to lower into a kneeling position. As this occurred my shield would drop as well to create a barrier with the lowering of my body that his sword could collide with harmlessly save for the jarring I felt behind the shield due to the blow.
Angling my shield off to my left then I would push it forward and to me left in an attempt to scoop Exaviers sword against its face and carry it off to his right across his shield to hamper his ability to make a fast motion. While this occurred my Scimitar would slash from my right to left with my wrist rotating outwards as the sword comes across so that I can wrap the blade back around Exaviers left knee and then jerk it back in an attempt to use the false edge of the scimitar to cut into him.

says to . Administrator of Minus: I watch you sink down to a kneeling position and know that your next attack will come low as it has to. You do indeed parry my sword up against your shield, putting it out of positon and quite a bit farther to my right than I was comfortable with. This left me with few options as you swung your blade out around me and attempted to cut the back of my leg with its false edge. I actually step in towards you with my left leg as you swing your scimitar towards the back of my leg driving my left shin into your right forearm which would knock your right arm back and away from your body and not allow for the false edge to be cut along the back of my leg.
Now standing over you, in a slightly awkward position with how I had to hit your arm with my shin. I hoped your right arm was still extended out past your shield as I snap the sword from where it is, up and to my right, out and around my shield trying to slash the blade against your extended right arm, just above the elbow.

says to |..Exavier Exeter..|: When Exavier hit me with his shin to disengage my Scimitar from its attack he have needed to come in close, within inches it could be argued, which would have also put him at an somewhat unenviable position to use such a large and long sword with so little distance. Instead of attempting a fancy manuever I would have sprawled backwards, right onto my back, both to widen the distance between us and so that I could draw my Shield over my like a shell for his descending sword blow. My right arm and Scimitar jerking in tight as well before I lowered the shield and laughed...."Well fought Exavier."
