[ Minus ]
-At a stable where travelers may house their beasts for a small fee while staying in Minus......-
says to ALL: I stop in at the stables to check on my tarn, Bastian before heading into the town proper. I would need to rent a room at the Inn, and I was not even sure where that was yet. The manager of the stables that dealt with accommodations for tarn comes out to speak with me for a moment. Apparently Bastian has not been the best guest, and tried to eat one of the thralls last night. I walk into the pen with Bastian and look him over, I could see that they had removed the saddle bags and saddle from the huge black beast. He reacts to me instantly, having been carrying me around the landscape of Gor for many years. He calms as I walk up to him to rub his head for a few moments. The men running the stables had been reticent to go in and feed him so I dragged in some of the fresh meat that they were using for food. Bastian tears into it. Sure that he is well taken care of I head off to find the Inn.

[ Minus ]
-Is on the main street of Minus which is lined with shops and vendors, and the odd inn and tavern...-
says to ALL: I leave the stables and head out onto the main street. I begin looking for empty storefronts and warehouses. I would need to modify whatever I was able to rent to suit my needs, but the small forge I'd rented in the market was not going to work indefinitely. The materials I purchased from the woman from the village in the Inlet of Green Cliffs was going to take a very long time to reach Ar, but I could finish the other preparations ahead of time. I spy a small brick building that might work. I peer into the dust covered windows and find the building empty. Considering how much I might have to pay to rent the space as I walk away from it and head back out onto the street. I flag down a passing Rarius and ask him if he knows the way to the Inn. He makes a few motions with his hands and tells me to turn at some place called the Minus Pour House. I thank him for his assistance, I could tell he thought I was barely above a barbarian, coming from the North, though I'd gotten rid of most of the torvaldslander trappings, such as clothing and the like because it was so hot here.

says to ALL: I still wore the heavy beard that I'd had ever since I moved to Scagnar, and then had left for Yorack's home with the Innuits. After returning his body to his family for a proper burial I'd spent many years in the north hunting sea sleen. I'd realized quickly though that a beard down to the middle of one's chest was not all that conducive to working in a blacksmith shop. There were little burn marks leaving holes in my beard from where the hot sparks had hit it. I was going to need to get it shaved off soon, perhaps I could find a slave that could accomplish such since I did not own any of my own. I look over catching sight of the Inn finally. I was carrying a small pack that I'd retrieved from the saddle bag of my tarn. It was not much, a few items that I liked to keep close, and the small amount of valuables that I carried around with me.

[ Minus Inn - Main Room ]
-In the main room of the inn where guests check in with the inn keeper and pay for their accommodations before being lead to their rooms...-
says to ALL: I walk up over the porch of the building the Rarius had explained was the Inn that most petitioning members stayed at. Unfortunately my fortune had been lost when I left Scagnar, well lost to my old Free Companion, so I did not have the coin needed to rent one of the very nice cabins I'd heard about. A small room at the Inn would have to suffice. Although if my little venture with my old friend Vantes worked out, I could perhaps afford more luxurious accommodations. The main room of the Inn is rather empty at this time of day, most people out working or traveling and the like. I see that there is a bar along one end of the room and there is someone standing behind that bar, I imagined that would be the best place to start asking questions about securing a room.

[ Minus Inn - Main Room ]
-In the main room of the inn where guests check in with the inn keeper and pay for their accommodations before being lead to their rooms...-
says to ALL: Though I am six feet four inches tall and 250 pounds the man that stands behind the counter is huge even to me. But where I was muscular he was obese, I considered how anyone could become obese in a place like Minus, but I figured that he had plenty of opportunities to eat, and also spent much of his time standing behind the bar. "Tal, I am Exavier Exeter and I wish to speak with the Innkeeper." I tell him as I walk up to the bar. His bald head shining a bit in the afternoon light pouring in through the windows of the main room of the Inn, the huge man nods his massive head and says that I am speaking with the correct person. "How much is the rental per night? Or could I rent a room for say four hands, by then I should have a ruling on my petition for membership." I say to him, he seems to consider this, and responds with, "The rooms are normally two copper tarsks per evening, but if you were willing to pay ahead for the full four hands, I could cut that cost in half, it would be twenty copper tarsks for the four hand period." I listen to him and decide that is a fair price, I consider trying to haggle with him a bit, but well I was currently just a low caste and humble blacksmith, therefore it would not be expected that I would try to push him too hard on the price of the room. I nod my agreement and take a small leather pouch out of my weapons harness, counting out the twenty copper tarsks that would be required for my four hand stay.

[ Minus Inn - Main Room ]
-In the main room of the inn where guests check in with the inn keeper and pay for their accommodations before being lead to their rooms...-
says to ALL: The massive man reaches around behind the bar, taking out a key for room number seven and slides it across to me. He also gives me a separate key that goes to a small safe in the room that could be used for valuables. Though I did not have much in the way of valuables, a bit of coin and some gemstones. The key for the room itself is just one of the normal wooden keys, that would lift a latch behind the door. This would not keep out anyone determined to get into the room, but would suffice for what I needed. I take the key from him and thank him for his time before heading up the stairs to the upper floor where my room was. I see the arrows that point either way with the numbered rooms underneath them. I select the direction for room number seven and unlock the door, heading inside. Shutting the door behind me as I drop the pack I was carrying onto the mat on the floor that was the bed. I then locate the safe and take a small chest and a pouch out of the pack, putting them in the safe, following that I take out the only collar that I own, a solid silver collar with the letters Ex engraved upon it. I considered to myself how long it had been since a slave wore this collar. I put that in the safe along with the small chest of gemstones and the pouch of coin, shutting it and locking it before standing again. There were pegs on the walls that could be used to hang weapons so I unhook the ax from my back. It is a massive torvaldsland style ax with double blades. I would not be carrying that around with me for the time being because it was a very ponderous weapon that would not be of much use in the fighting styles of the south. The ax was named Vengeance, it was the first weapon that I ever made. It was made in honor of my brother Caspian, and was used to remove the head of the man that killed him. The handle was simple temwood, engraved with runes, the head also rather plain as I did not know how to do intricate styling when I first made it. Sure that was put away in a safe place I went through some of the other things in my pack. A piercing kit, a box of rings that could be used in ears and other places, a set of branding irons, and the tools that I used to measure and plot out different projects were set on the small desk that was included with the room. I then took out the two drawings I had of work I'd been contracted for and pinned them down to the wooden desk.

[ Minus Inn - Guest Room ]
-In one of the many guest rooms offered by the Minus Inn...-
says to ALL: I would have added the ivory handled blade I carried around with me all the time to my possessions inside of the room, but well that had been my original down payment for a very important matter. I considered making myself an additional dagger, or perhaps I would go with a bracer of quivas. Left on my scarred and muscular form are a hammer on my left hip, the same one that I always used in the forge, on my left as that was my dominant hand. On my right hip I wear a 31" sword that Trei Stonegate forged for me many years ago. And then finally across my back I wear a 36" long sword, the pommel jutting out over my left shoulder. I had no clothes to speak of beyond the kurii hide boots and cloak that I wore when I lived in the north. Again they would not be practical for this far south, so I hang both of the items in the small room against one wall. Satisfied I'd unloaded everything I needed to for the time being I hang the pack off the back of the chair at the desk and then head towards the door, considering going back down into the main room to find something to eat. I then realized that I'd not heard the bell that would be used in an establishment like this to announce that food was soon to be served. I thought about going to look for Cimber, to speak with him further about the rental costs for the small brick building I'd seen on the way in. Either way I walk out of the guest room and down the stairs, back out into the streets of Minus.
