says to ALL: By her screwed logic, if she started fighting against the cage--it would remind her just how small it truly was and she would loose her mind completely. She would bash her head against it until she ended up killing herself accidentally. No one at all knew her aversion to small spaces. When she had first been thrown in there, she vomited as soon as the door of the cage had been shut. Not only did she feel the metal closing in, in her mind's eye, she saw it. It had been too much to simply scream. Instead, she felt her belly turn over furiously and she pushed her face against the bars and threw up.

Since she had no hair to grab he grabbed her by the ear and shook her...only causing her to wretch again. In the end, she had buckets of frigid water thrown on her to both clean the area and herself. It had taken her a while to clean herself and it took forver to get dry. While she was dry now, her skin was ice cold. But at least, she managed to not think about the bars. And she could stretch her legs. In her mind, she made pretend that she never stood a day in her life and felt no need to stand. If she pondered the though of not being able to stand straight...of being locked in this tiny space...she would snap. In that very moment as she tried to concentrate breathing in free air, she heard your approach and though she wished to launch herself backwards away from you, she held her ground. The worlds that washed over her were barely understood by Demeter. The cage was wrenched open and she sprung out so quickly that she stumbled twice beforw managing to get up.

Her voice was low and hoarse...but you would be able to hear her. She did not day this because she wanted you to let up on her...only that it was the only bit of truth she ccould muster at this point.

Remembering the searing and excrutiatingly painful encounter from before her self controll blanked out for a moment and there was the slightest hesitation on her part. The smell of fire and metal assualted her nose, and for now...it was the worse smell she could imagine. She held a hand to her mouth and nose, as if that would stop what was coming.

As it was designed to be put on the face, on the cheek totally marring the person's face for the rest of their life. I turn the brand over in my hands for a moment before thrusting it into the coals of the fire.

She could feel perspiration beading at the nape of her neck and briefly, she lifted her hands to wipe it away. Once again, she marveled rather...morbidly at the absence of her hair. She dragged her fingertips along the nape of her neck...and momentarily checked out as her thoughts wandered to random places. I am not going to puke, Mistress. There's nothing left. she said a few extended moments later.

I merely nod in your direction, the heat in here was oppressive as always, I was still stripped down to my waist from working in the forge making steel recently. "so you want it on her lower stomach then? She is looking a little green, perhaps I should put a bucket out so if she pukes she does not have to lick it off the floor, there is metal filings down there that might kill her if she was to eat them." I say more as an observation than any particular worry for your beast.

Since you had indeed been shaved bald. I reach down and grab your upper right arm with my left one, pulling you to your feet and yank you over to the branding rack. Which was nothing more than an X of wood with restraints for ankles and wrists. I push your body back against it, holding you there with my hip in case your legs failed you at this moment. I then go about locking your wrists into the manacles there, these were just plain steel manacles, if you were to sag in them they would bite into your wrists pretty considerably. I then do the same with your ankles, you can feel the steel of the manacles cutting into the flesh of your ankles I put them so tight. I have you strung up like this as I turn back to your owner again.

I then consider your statement and ask an obvious question, "so if you don't mind if she dies from steel shavings in her stomach, then why bother?" I say reaching into the back of my belt, retrieving a wicked looking dagger, the blade is blood red, a quirk in the smelting process that was very hard to duplicate. The handle is made of carved bone, very intricate, the blade was serrated on one side and razor sharp on the other. "you can borrow this if you would like?" I ask, "or I can use the brand." I did not care much one way or the other, of course if you ended her I would not get paid, but perhaps you would find a slave that did not need to be reminded of her place so often, and I would get another brand out of the deal anyway.

When you turned your back to her, she focused her gaze on a small insect inspecting the walls here.

It was almost as if it hungered for blood and was disappointed when I put it away, but of course weapons did not have any sentience, perhaps it was I that was disappointed to put it away without drawing any blood with it. "as you wish Onix." I say to you as I turn back to the fires of the forge, pulling a leather glove onto my left hand and then taking the liar's brand out of the fire, the heat was coming off it in waves, it almost seemed to ionize the air it was so hot.

I then use a rep cloth to wipe off the skin where I was going to put the brand. I set the cloth to the side and turn the brand towards you, starting to line it up with your lower left stomach. I did not speak with you, a liar and thief slave was even lower than the soot that I walked upon at this moment. If it was not for the fact that I was being paid to brand you, I would probably not want to even have a slave that was a proven liar and thief around me.

The fury that Demeter felt suddenly had flared up and died out just as quickly.

says to Ð e m e t e r[O n i x]: I line the brand up with the area of your flesh where I just cleaned off. Your lower abdomen, on the left side, just about where your waist line would be, if you were to ever wear anything that resembled pants or a dress again you would have a permanent reminder of the brand rubbing against whatever item of clothing that happened to be. I get the brand close to your skin, enough for you probably to start screaming before I Even push it towards your flesh. I push it closer and closer, until it connects with your skin, this one was as I'd said much larger than the other one I'd given you. Almost immediately a sweet scent starts to curl up from the branding site, it was burnt flesh, and had a smell that was somewhere between burnt sugar and burnt bosk steak. I hold the brand there for ten full seconds, before pulling it away again and setting it down into the water bath so that the flesh that came away with the brand would eventually come off, I did always have to clean the brands after, as flesh was a bit sticky. When I get done you have a brand on your abdomen, that looked incredibly painful.

It had been her intention to not scream when the brand touched her skin--but that was likely as emptying the ocean with a bucket. The scream tore from her lips as if she tried to rein the sound back in. She would allow herself one scream. No tears. But the scream came from somewhere deep and no doubt coud be heard over a wide area. When the brand was removed she had to wrench herself back and bit down so hard on her lip that she broke her skin. But even that pain did not drown out the fire on her skin. She took deep, gulping breaths to keep from sobbing. Instead, a low moan escaped her lips as she pulled her arm...hard.

"It is done, you are welcome to leave her hanging there a day or two if you would like, unless someone else needs the rack. She should not strangle herself or anything as her shoulders cannot bend enough to impede her breathing." I say with a nod, "I think we settled on 5 copper the last time through for the brand, and another five for the healing salve, but you may already have some of that." I say with a smile, "and as always it is nice doing business with you Onix" I say as I take off the glove and wipe some of the soot from my torso, you would perhaps notice that I had a set of claw marks across my muscular chest, they looked like they were made a very long time ago, and that the animal that had given them to me had almost killed me.

I waited for you to tell me how much I owed with a demi-smile on my lips, a trickle of sweat coursed down my temple and dripped off my earlobe, I needed cool fresh air soon or I fear I would make a puddle of sweat on your floor. As you reminded me of the price I pulled out the five copper and would not bother with healing salve, I had a bit left over if I felt merciful. I offered the five copper to you with a smile and watched your hand brush the soot from your well toned torso, the scars stood out noticeably and I knew them anywhere, clearly a Kur attack...for you to survive such a grievous wound spoke volumes. I lowered my eyes from staring lest I be deemed improper and looked to the slave.* No....I have more in store for her...but thank you for your time and your services...I am never displeased by your efficiency...*I waited for the slave to be let loose of her binds*

But of course that was a story for another day. I finish wiping myself off and slide on my tunic and weapons harness before moving towards your slave. "as you wish, you are welcome to have further conversation with her here, I am done in the forge for the evening." I say waving ff the two thralls that were working the billows and building the fire, sure that they would understand that they could have the rest of the evening off. I then turn towards your slave.

This time I made no attempt to hold you up, allowing you to fall to your knees or further should you not be able to keep your knees locked when you hit the floor. If you did go down, there were several incredibly sharp shavings of steel around here that would likely puncture the fair skin of your knees. I did not say anything to you the whole time, just going about my business. The skin of your lower abdomen had finally stopped smoking and that sickly sweet smell of burnt flesh was dissipating.

says to ALL: Even now it burned almost as if the branding iron had never been removed, but of course, it was in her head. She heard the scraping sounds and the casual conversation over price in regards to having part of her flesh burned away. But, she put herself in check. There were certain things that she couldn't allow herself to feel or dwell on--much like being in the cage. If she focused on it too hard or too long, she would kill herself trying to be away from it..and not purposely either. So carefully..very carefully and meticulously, she blanked her expression and her thoughts and would from this moment on. Though the pain that she felt in every part of her body was hard to ignore. But nonetheless, when she felt herself being unlocked from the x rack, she managed to hold herself up. And that had been out of sheer spite. Because the strength of will it took not to buckle had nearly caused her to collapse. One hand was pressed against the wall just for a moment as she wiped the sweat out of her eye. Even that movement...small as it was, caused that burning feeling to slice through her again. Finally, she managed to stand up without leaning on any inanimate object for support. Still...she said nothing. It didn't even look as if she screamed only minutes before. Her face was a mask of calm, though her lips were nearly white from the strain. Lightly, she held her hand over the brand without actually touching...waiting to be told to move...or simply.propelled forward.

says to ALL: By her screwed logic, if she started fighting against the cage--it would remind her just how small it truly was and she would loose her mind completely. She would bash her head against it until she ended up killing herself accidentally. No one at all knew her aversion to small spaces. When she had first been thrown in there, she vomited as soon as the door of the cage had been shut. Not only did she feel the metal closing in, in her mind's eye, she saw it. It had been too much to simply scream. Instead, she felt her belly turn over furiously and she pushed her face against the bars and threw up.

Since she had no hair to grab he grabbed her by the ear and shook her...only causing her to wretch again. In the end, she had buckets of frigid water thrown on her to both clean the area and herself. It had taken her a while to clean herself and it took forver to get dry. While she was dry now, her skin was ice cold. But at least, she managed to not think about the bars. And she could stretch her legs. In her mind, she made pretend that she never stood a day in her life and felt no need to stand. If she pondered the though of not being able to stand straight...of being locked in this tiny space...she would snap. In that very moment as she tried to concentrate breathing in free air, she heard your approach and though she wished to launch herself backwards away from you, she held her ground. The worlds that washed over her were barely understood by Demeter. The cage was wrenched open and she sprung out so quickly that she stumbled twice beforw managing to get up.

I then do the same with your ankles, you can feel the steel of the manacles cutting into the flesh of your ankles I put them so tight. The handle is made of carved bone, very intricate, the blade was serrated on one side and razor sharp on the other. "you can borrow this if you would like?" I ask, "or I can use the brand." I did not care much one way or the other, of course if you ended her I would not get paid, but perhaps you would find a slave that did not need to be reminded of her place so often, and I would get another brand out of the deal anyway.

Your lower abdomen, on the left side, just about where your waist line would be, if you were to ever wear anything that resembled pants or a dress again you would have a permanent reminder of the brand rubbing against whatever item of clothing that happened to be. I get the brand close to your skin, enough for you probably to start screaming before I Even push it towards your flesh. I push it closer and closer, until it connects with your skin, this one was as I'd said much larger than the other one I'd given you. Almost immediately a sweet scent starts to curl up from the branding site, it was burnt flesh, and had a smell that was somewhere between burnt sugar and burnt bosk steak. I hold the brand there for ten full seconds, before pulling it away again and setting it down into the water bath so that the flesh that came away with the brand would eventually come off, I did always have to clean the brands after, as flesh was a bit sticky. When I get done you have a brand on your abdomen, that looked incredibly painful.

But even that pain did not drown out the fire on her skin. She took deep, gulping breaths to keep from sobbing. Instead, a low moan escaped her lips as she pulled her arm...hard.

I say with a smile, "and as always it is nice doing business with you Onix" I say as I take off the glove and wipe some of the soot from my torso, you would perhaps notice that I had a set of claw marks across my muscular chest, they looked like they were made a very long time ago, and that the animal that had given them to me had almost killed me.

She heard the scraping sounds and the casual conversation over price in regards to having part of her flesh burned away. But, she put herself in check. There were certain things that she couldn't allow herself to feel or dwell on--much like being in the cage. If she focused on it too hard or too long, she would kill herself trying to be away from it..and not purposely either. So carefully..very carefully and meticulously, she blanked her expression and her thoughts and would from this moment on. Though the pain that she felt in every part of her body was hard to ignore. But nonetheless, when she felt herself being unlocked from the x rack, she managed to hold herself up. And that had been out of sheer spite. Because the strength of will it took not to buckle had nearly caused her to collapse. One hand was pressed against the wall just for a moment as she wiped the sweat out of her eye. Even that movement...small as it was, caused that burning feeling to slice through her again. Finally, she managed to stand up without leaning on any inanimate object for support. Still...she said nothing. It didn't even look as if she screamed only minutes before. Her face was a mask of calm, though her lips were nearly white from the strain. Lightly, she held her hand over the brand without actually touching...waiting to be told to move...or simply.propelled forward.
