==at a shop in the village==
says to Everyone: I look up from the ledger in front of me. Counting out a few more gold coins to add to the pouch on the desk. Though Jonas had secured the steel that we would be using I still needed to buy prodigious amounts of wood and other materials. I look down through each of the entries and consider of the quantities are enough. Much of the materials we needed could be sourced from vendors and other market stalls within the village but we would need to either gather or import other items. Specific bone and wood for hilts had already been sourced before we came to Scagnar. Those chests would be in the workshop on the other side of the forges. I had dispatched Ibrahim Gaunt with several of our men to start cutting down trees near the cabin that I still owned near the lake. I'd retained the deed when I left Scagnar and there was some outstanding hardwoods near the cabin. I'd also hired several carts to accompany him to bring the wood back to the village. There was another pouch on the desk with several silver coins in it that had come from Omega's sales of sea sleen pelts. This was no where near enough to account for all of the pelts that we had. I'd tell Christof to have Ibrahim relieved at the cabin sourcing wood and send him to the Larius Exchange Point to sell the remaining stock in the Dark Tharlarion.

says to Everyone: I lean back in the chair and stretch. Thick corded muscles stand out in my arms that have been built from thousands of hours swinging a hammer over the years. I never wore a tunic when I was in the forge, it was always too hot and they were also liable to catch on fire at any moment so I was just leaning back in my leather pants, a few beads of sweat running down my sculpted chest. I thought I had done enough paperwork for one day at this point so I closed the ledger and called out to the small cubicle that Omega was occupying at one corner of the office. "Omega! Have you not sold any of the sea sleen pelts yet? I mean there is like 5 silver in that pouch. Or did ya spend it all already?" I looked up as he comes out from behind the short wall sputtering. His long goatee twitching back and forth as he looks at me. "Boss! I told you that they would not sell here. Not all of them anyway, you flooded the damn market." He grunts as he turns his head, gold earrings flashing in his ears. I toss a small pouch of gold coins to him. "Fine, ya dirty pirate, it appears we are going to have to go farther afield."

says to Everyone: The aforementioned dirty pirate quirks his face in something approximating "I told you so" but he does not say it. He was quite a loyal partner in my business dealings. I raise a hand as the light glints off his bald head, "damn, you been waxing that thing or did you finally take a bath?" I ask him with a laugh, "pay for the items in the village that we need and then go tell Leaman that I want him to take the remaining sleen pelts to the Larius Exchange Point, if he can't sell them there he can go south down the coast until they are gone. He can take the Dark Tharlarion with a skeleton crew. We had plenty of men in Scagnar anyway. "If he makes it as far as Port Kar have him speak to the council on my behalf about setting up some trade between there and Scagnar. My name should still be worth something there even if Nazeer is long dead." I hand him the ledger that shows the quantities of all the items that we needed so that he could double check with the market vendors to make sure that the manifests were the same on the shipments. He seemed to be happy to get out of the office anyway. He had taken a liking to Scagnar in his previous visits here. I finally get up from my desk and walk out into the main part of the forge. I could see all of the smiths that I brought with me working at their forges, feeding wood and pumping the bellows. These forges were much larger than the one I would be using but I still needed to check in on it.

says to Everyone: I walk into the small forge in the corner of the complex. It was the original forge before the person that used this place before me expanded upon the original footprint. This area looked much more like what you would imagine a traditional forge would look like. It was dark and sooty, with a furnace against one wall of the room. My anvil had been set up in close proximity. Exactly where I marked on the floor with chalk that it should go. I ran my hand over one of the hammers hanging upon the wall. The wood of the handle worn from use in my hands. It had been years since I had used any of the equipment that was now in this forge. My men had been very careful with everything. There was still more to unpack, some of the special sheathes and hilts that I'd purchased or made over the years. I did not always make something special for the weapon but often adapted things to make it my own spin on the particular weapon. I pop open one of the crates that has bone handles and hilts in it. Taking out a few to set them on the workbench. I then turn to the furnace and load it with more wood. I move over to the bellows and start to pump them quickly, I could feel the heat rising almost immediately in the small space. I spent several ehns pumping the billows and then loading more wood and pumping them again. The chunks of wood were burning fiercely now and so I put some coal in the center to heat the entire pile even more. Bedding it down for the night I would refuel it in the morning before I went on to other tasks. I was not going to be able to do any specific work tonight but I wanted to be sure everything was ready for my next free evening to create something.

says to Everyone: Finishing up with the loading process for the furnace I spend a few moments arranging some of my molds and getting out a few additional pairs of tongs. I only used a small set of hammers. A few different weights so those were all hanging on the wall next to the furnace. The molds were all over on a shelf below the workbench. I had an incredible assortment of molds out in the main part of the forge but I kept the ones I used frequently in here. Axe molds, spear heads, spatha, Torvaldslander long sword. Each of these was labeled and put in the correct place. Everything was now set so that I could begin work the next time I was in the forge. The last weapon I'd made was a scaramax for Jonas several years ago when I visited Scagnar. I'd been off in the hinterlands since. I was actually considering a nice torvaldslander style sword for myself. I fancied a Torvaldslander style shield when fighting lately anyway. I had favored shield and axe over my last few fights but a sword might be fun to play around with as well. I turn off the lanterns in the forge. It is still lit by the glow from the furnace and I'd used this room many times in the past so I did not need much light anyway. I slip out the door near this furnace and into the streets. Heading back down to my ship, the Eye of the Beholder, and the plus captain's cabin there. I was sick of sleeping on a ship though. Perhaps I wold go out and visit the cabin soon.
